Srinagar, October 10: The Jammu and Kashmir cabinet expansion is likely next week, but no final decision has been taken yet, National Conference sources said.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is expected to return from New Delhi and consult NC president Dr Farooq Abdullah once a final decision on the expansion is made.

Sources dismissed speculation over possible ministerial inductions, saying no names have been finalised and no decision has been taken on the number of new ministers or changes in the existing setup.

The Council of Ministers currently has six members, including the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister, leaving three vacancies under the legal cap of nine ministers for the 90-member Assembly.
